The loveable Dolly Parton added a new addition to her long list of achievements when her self-penned Broadway musical, 9 to 5, received four Tony Awards, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical and Best Choreography. The musical is based on Parton smash song of the same name.
Opening on April 30 at the Marquis Theater, the musical also claimed 15 Drama Desk Awards, a new record, and three Drama League Award nominations.

“It's a long way from Locust Ridge, Tenn., to Broadway! I'm just so proud to be here and to be nominated for a Tony for writing the score for 9 to 5: The Musical. It's a wonderful show, and I'm proud to be part of it. Thank God and thank you,” Parton said.
The show previewed in L.A. late last year and was awarded two Los Angles Drama Critics Circle Awards.
