“Queen of Country Music,” Dolly Parton, is preparing her latest release - “Sacrifice.” The single is off her critically acclaimed album, Better Day, from Dolly Records, distributed through Warner Music Nashville. The release of this single coincides with the second leg of U.S. tour dates that end in Florida on Oct. 18.

“’The Sacrifice’ is another song that is just so, totally, me,” says Dolly. “I think it’s so totally everybody that has a dream and desire to be successful, and in order to be successful we have to give up things that we’d rather not. But if we’re not willing to make that sacrifice usually we don’t see those dreams come true.”

The singer, songwriter, musician, actress and philanthropist marks her fourth release on her own Dolly Records with Better Day. It is also her first studio album in her entire career to reach the top 10 in the U.K., where she recently performed at the O2 Arena in London. It is also the same venue where Dolly recorded and filmed Live From London, her widely praised 2009 two-disc DVD/CD set with songs from her 2008 Backwoods Barbie album as well as many of her other classic hits.

In November, Dolly packs her bags for a run of dates in Australia. She will also be seen on the silver screen, alongside Queen Latifah, in Joyful Noise. The film is a musically driven feature that tells the story of an unlikely partnership between the two women when they are forced to save a small town Gospel choir after budget cuts shut them down. This silver screen appearance marks Dolly’s return to movies. She has starred in Steel Magnolias, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and the Academy Award-nominated 9-5.
