National charitable organization Kids Wish Network and Country Music legend Dolly Parton recently helped to make one little girl’s dream come true.

Amanda Smyser was diagnosed with Chiari malformation and syringomyelia, a condition in which her brain intrudes on her spinal column. Smyser had her wish fulfilled when she traveled from her home in Michigan to Tennessee to meet Parton.

Amanda just thinks the woman is amazing. She always has,” said Smyser’s mom, Brenda. “She loves her music, her literacy program and all she does.”

Aside from meeting her hero, Smyser and her dad received round-trip flights, accommodations at The Inn at Christmas Place, tickets to Dollywood, a rental car, spending money, various dinners while in Tennessee and attendance at the Black Bear Jamboree – all thanks to Kids Wish Network.

“She loved Dolly’s show and the Black Bear Jamboree. She got to see all the things she wanted to see,” Brenda said.

Kids Wish Network is dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories and improving the quality of life for children having experienced life-altering situations.
