Dolly Parton Is Smarter Than She Looks

Dolly Parton has never steered away from her Smoky Mountain roots -- blonde hair, long nails, bright dresses and anything else that flatters her curvy figure. Parton's motive for her timeless appearance came from the professional girls who worked on the range where she grew up in East Tennessee, but Parton is far from being the "ditzy" girl she portrays, according to GACtv.com.
"I certainly got hit on a lot, and a lot of men thought I was as silly as I looked," she told Morley Safer in a 60 Minutes profile that ran Sunday. "I look like a woman but think like a man, and in this world of business, that has helped me a lot because by the time they think that I don't know what's going on, I done got the money and gone."
This week, Parton is packing her things and heading to New York City. While there, she will make her first attempt on Broadway with 9 To 5: The Musical. The musical is themed around the 80s movie 9 To 5, but Parton certainly added plenty of new music. Several songs that will be on the Broadway show can also be heard on her album, Backwoods Barbie.
Parton even won an award for last fall’s run of 9 To 5 in Los Angeles, where she saved an opening-night glitch by getting up from the audience and diverting attention to an impromptu one-woman show — including a rendition of "I Will Always Love You" — while technicians went to work onstage.
