12/5/2007 Stephen L. Betts Dierks Bentley and friends took to the ice yesterday afternoon for a hockey-themed party in Nashville to celebrate his fifth chart-topping single, “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go).” Since 2001, Dierks has played in a Nashville hockey league, so he wanted to give his teammates a special treat by playing a game on the Nashville Predators hockey rink. Dierks says, “When [a song] does get to No. 1, you need to have a celebration 'cause it's a big deal."  Dierks will attempt a rare “double hat-trick,” going for his sixth No. 1 single with his just released “Trying to Stop Your Leaving.”
