9/10/2007 Stephen L. Betts Dierks Bentley says if he wins the Album of the Year honor at the upcoming CMA Awards, it'll be his most precious prize. Dierks' Long Trip Alone is among the contenders, along with Brad Paisley's 5th Gear, George Strait's It Just Comes Natural, Keith Urban's Love, Pain, and the whole crazy thing," and Vince Gill's These Days. Dierks says he works hard on his albums to make sure they aren't just a bunch of songs thrown together. "I try to make them with a thread and a constant theme with each one building on the album before it," says Dierks, adding that to be recognized for his effort is a high honor for him.  The 41st Annual Country Music Association Awards will be presented in Nashville, and will air live on ABC-TV Nov. 7.
