Dierks Bentley Feels Nashville's Growing Pains

One Country star is feeling Nashville’s growing pains and isnot so happy about the entertainment mecca it has become.
 
Arizona native Dierks Bentley is happy to call Music City home, but he doesn’t want the town to get any bigger.
 
“Part of me loves it. Part of me is like, ugh,” Bentley told CMT Radio. “The town’s getting so big. The award shows are getting so big…I still like the smallness of the town. Hopefully it doesn't get too big.”
 
During the devastating Nashville flood last May, Bentley and several other artists, including Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, were thankful for the small, close-knit Nashville community.
 
“I went over to [Lady Antebellum member Charles Kelley’s] place, and he was talking to his neighbors. He just moved there, and I said, ‘That's cool that you know your neighbors pretty well,’” Bentley told The Boot. “He said, ‘I never knew them before today.’ Everyone comes out and [bonds] when something like the flood happens. It does have a way of bringing people a lot closer together, for sure.”
 
2010 has been a big year for Bentley, who won both an ACM and a CMA award this year. In addition, he was recently nominated for two Grammy awards for his bluegrass project, Up On The Ridge.
