Derek-Sholl Country Music is welcoming former pro baseball player Derek Sholl to its world. Sholl released his debut Country album, Here, on Oct. 14 as a tribute to the everyday men and women with songs about break-ups and good times. Sholl’s current single, “(I’ll Be) Here,” was produced by Chris Estes and is receiving a good amount of radio air play.This week in Germany, Sholl’s single obtained the No. 1 position on the Country Music Airplay Charts. Sholls is teaming up with Nashville’s CO5 promotion and marketing company for the promotion of his single and future releases. Soon, Sholl will began an radio tour to expand his market, visiting Las Vegas, San Diego, Denver, Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, Lancaster and Harrisburg, Pa., and Frederick, Md., with more to follow.Sholl sports the good looks of a southern Californian and baseball player, the energy of an athlete, and a soulful, warm Country voice. To further emphasize his potential in the Country Music industry, music journalist Robert K. Oermann gave Sholl his DISCovery Award in Music Row magazine for “(I’ll Be) Here.”Recently, Sholl was featured in the Oct. 20 edition of Country Weekly magazine, and he appeared on CMT Insider. Sholl is scheduled for a taping on the syndicated entertainment TV show, Extra! and for other appearances on local network stations in Nashville, Las Vegas, Tulsa and several other top markets.Sholl began his music career in local bars in southern California and is working his way up to Vegas stages and Nashville recording studios. Due to nurmerous baseball related injuries, Sholl had to end his baseball career. Knowing that his life was headed in a different direction, Sholl picked up his guitar and took to performing requests at local bars. Soon after, Sholl gathered a band and took to performing in larger venues.
