Taylor Swift walked away with a lot of gold at last week's CMT Music Awards, but according to some critics, her performance that night with Def Leppard fell short. Now, Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott is defending her sour note, according to TheBoot.com.
Swift and Def Leppard highlighted the Awards show with a performance of the band's hit, "Pour Some Sugar on Me." Swift started the song, but her performance left some critics calling her "breathless" and weak, a criticism Elliott tried to defend.
"What a lot of people don't know is she was up for five awards," he said. "And about a minute before we started the song, she had just picked up an award. So, after she accepted the award, she had to run down the stairs, run back to her dressing room, and change her clothes."
Joe went on to say that as the director was counting down to the performance, Swift was running back up the stairs, barely making it in time as she put in her in-ear monitoring device and clipped the battery pack to her skirt.  In spite of the chaos, the performance was the most watched part of the entire show.
