Darius Rucker Challenges Fans in Football Season Contest

This week marked the beginning of Darius Rucker’s End Zone Obsession Football Challenge, which offers fans an opportunity to interact with Rucker throughout the 2010-2011 NFL football season.
 
Participants will have the chance to pick the winners of each week’s scheduled games by visiting http://endzoneobsession.footballexpertsclub.com/. Points are awarded for correct predictions and prizes are given to the top 10 highest point earners at the end of each round. Three participants with the highest total at the end of the season will have a chance to win a grand prize trip for two to Hawaii during NFL’s Pro Bowl Weekend.
 
The contest’s website features everything needed for participants to find success, including real-time statistics, player profiles, competitor picks and marquee match-ups. Those involved will also have the chance to go head-to-head against Rucker or other competitors.
 
“Anyone that knows me knows that I am fanatical about two things, music and sports,” Rucker said. “This game is the perfect way for all my friends to join me with my sports obsession.”
 
The challenge is presented by Athlon Sports. Nathan Karp, interactive director for Athlon Sports, believes it’s a great way to promote Rucker’s new album, Charleston, SC 1966, which is due to hit stores Oct. 12.
