New Darius Rucker Coming In October
Darius Rucker’s new release, titled Charleston, SC 1966, is coming out in October. The title refers to Darius’ birthplace and birth year. Darius told Texan newspaper the Victorian Advocate that this release won’t be that different from his platinum Learn to Live, and in fact it is like an extension of it. Isn’t that called leftovers Darius?

New Reba Coming November 9
The PR gurus don’t say what the name of her new release is, but the lead single is “Turn On The Radio” and is about a girl blowing off some guy. It’s supposed to be a good one! Reba released her gold status Keep On Loving You less than a year ago. What I don’t get is why is it you don’t have to “turn on the radio” to hear “Turn On The Radio” since it is available on iTunes August 3.

Speaking of Gold
Joe Nichols’ “Gimmie That Girl” single has been certified gold by RIAA with over 500,000 digital downloads. “Gimmie That Girl” was #1 for Nichols for several weeks. It is off the release Old Things New and will be followed by the single “The Shape I’m In”. Well I guess he’s in pretty good shape after going gold!

A Golden Idea
Strap on your boots, military boots that is, to support the troops! Many country music stars, including Joe Nichols, Heidi Newfield, Gretchen Wilson, Steel Magnolia and others have done so. The idea started from a small group of women in Tyler, Texas known as The Boot Girls. They talked country music singers and others into having their photos taken with military boots on. Now they’re selling military boots to help the troops. Go to www.bootcampaign.com to figure the rest out. Of course I’ll need two pair! Woof.
