Daily & Vincent Riding High On Charts and Awards

As the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass Awards approach, with seven IBMA award nominations, Rounder Records duo Dailey &Vincent also top the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey album and song charts for October. 
 
Brothers From Different Mothers, released in March, is at the #1 position on the Top 15 Bluegrass Albums chart, while “Head Hung Down,” featuring a guest appearance by Statler Brother Harold Reid in his comedy alter ego of Lester “Roadhog” Moran, sits at the top of the song chart. 
 
At the same time, Brothers From Different Mothers is #1 on Bluegrass Music Profiles’ CD chart for September, with “Head Hung Down” at #2 on the Hot 30 Singles chart.
 
Brothers From Different Mothers debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Bluegrass Albums chart and has been in the top 5 for 12 weeks.  It is nominated for IBMA’s Album of the Year.  The group’s other nominations are for Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year for “On the Other Side,” Male Vocalist of the Year (Dailey), Bass Player of the Year (Vincent), and Recorded Event of the Year, for “After the Fire is Gone,” which Vincent recorded with his sister, Rhonda, and Bobby Osborne.  Dailey & Vincent took home an unprecedented seven IBMA Awards last year, becoming the first act to be named Entertainer of the Year and Emerging Artist in the same year.
 
Dailey & Vincent will perform at the 20th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards show on Thursday, October 1, at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
 
On Saturday, October 3, they will perform at Bluegrass Fan Fest at the Nashville Convention Center and will then host the Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree.  Fans can tune in to 650 AM WSM or listen online at www.wsmonline.com.
Dailey & Vincent's Brothers From Different Mothers is also nominated for a Nashville Music Award in the category of Bluegrass Album of the Year.  The awards have been revived this year in a partnership between Next Big Nashville and Leadership Music, Inc.  Originally produced by Leadership Music and presented from 1995-2000, the awards recognize excellence in all genres of music.  The public is invited to vote for the Nashville Music Awards by visiting www.nashvillemusicawards.com.  Online balloting continues until September 30.
