1/30/2008 Webb Hi everyone! This is your official CountryHound mascot, Webb.   Starting today, CountryHound's editors are giving me the chance to use my superior bloodhound skills to sniff out this year's country music Grammy winners. We'll start with my favorite category - Best Female Country Vocal Performance: THE NOMINEES Best Female Country Vocal Performance ·         “Simple Love”       Alison Krauss      ·         “Famous in a Small Town”        Miranda Lambert       ·         “Nothin’ Better to Do”       LeAnn Rimes ·         “Before He Cheats”       Carrie Underwood       ·         “Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love”       Trisha Yearwood WEBB SAYS: Alison Krauss has 20 Grammys already, so if she takes home another one it wouldn't surprise me.  Miranda has to be considered strongly because of all her critical acclaim, and it could be scary if she loses...gunpowder and lead and all. LeAnn and Trisha sure can make this old hound dog howl with joy, but Carrie Underwood (who won this award last year, 7 years ago to me) won't let her dirty dog of a boyfriend get away with anything. Carrie smells like a winner to me. Woof. Let me know what YOU think! Write to me at webb@countryhound.com And don't miss the 50th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, broadcast live at 8 p.m. (ET) on CBS-TV.
