10/23/2007 Stephen L. Betts John McEuen, banjo player for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, is part of a recently released DVD called Kids Favorite Country Songs, being released on the Sesame Street label. John sings “Oh Susannah,” accompanied by an assortment of barnyard animals, and says he had a great time filming on a Long Island, NY, farm, “playing the banjo with about 50 goats, a cow and about 15 kids running around.” John says his own children were “impressed,” because like many of their generation, they grew up watching Sesame Street. His youngest kid, by the way, is 27 years old, while his oldest is 37. He adds that “when Elmo introduces you, you know you’ve arrived.” Other country artists on the project include Johnny Cash, Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Garth Brooks.
