Country Stars Rack Up Dove Award Nominations

Country stars George Strait, Randy Travis and Richie McDonald (formerly of Lonestar) all received nominations for the 40th Annual Dove Awards. The nominee’s were announced on Friday, Feb. 20, in Nashville.Strait is nominated for his song, “I Saw God Today,” while Travis and McDonald are both nominated for their albums. Travis’s album is Around the Bend, and McDonald’s is I Turn To You.Many Country singers also appeared on the Dove-nominated albums How Great Thou Art: Gospel Favorites From the Grand Ole Opry and Billy: The Early Years (a tribute to Billy Graham). Such artists include Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Josh Turner, Dierks Bentley, Vince Gill and others.Be sure to watch the 40th Annual Dove Awards taking place on April 23.
