Country Stars Join Opry Lineup During Its Homeless Period

Opry-House
More and more artists have signed up to play the Grand Ole Opry in the coming weeks, despite the recent flooding in Nashville that closed the Grand Ole Opry House. The Opry show, however, will continue at other venues around Nashville.

Eric Church will perform at the May 18 show and Charlie Daniels Band on the May 14 and May 18 performances. Other artists who have joined the lineup of performers include Vince Gill (May 25), Brad Paisley (May 25), Ricky Skaggs (May 15, 25), Mel Tillis (May 20) and Steve Wariner (May 25).

The Ryman Auditorium, the War Memorial Auditorium and Two Rivers Baptist Church, all in Nashville, will temporarily house the Opry through June 4. Both the Ryman and War Memorial Auditorium have housed the Opry before, first War Memorial from 1939-1943 and then, more famously, the Ryman from 1943-1974. Two Rivers Baptist Church, the Opry House’s neighbor at 2800 McGavock Pike, has yet to house an Opry performance.

Thursday night Opry Country Classics shows previously scheduled for the Ryman Auditorium will continue as planned.

Opry performances through June 4 will be held at the Ryman Auditorium except for:

May 14, 15, 18: Two Rivers Baptist Church, 2800 McGavock Pike

May 22, June 1: War Memorial Auditorium, 301 6th Ave. North
