Country Music Internet Station Created

Capitol Nashville Celebrates 2008 CMA Awards With A Drink
Country music lovers will be excited to learn they can now access live music  24 hours a day through a new internet radio station that plays only live recordings.

The music can be accessed at www.countrymusicontheroad.com. Through the site, listeners can also access news, Twitter feeds, tour schedules, pictures, tickets and other merchandise.

The idea for the station came about through the realization that many recordings for the national radio show "The Road" were not being heard. Because "The Road" is only a two-hour show, once a week, there is rarely enough time to play all the music that has been collected.

"'The Road' has a fantastic run over-the-air radio, but having an internet radio station that solely features 'The Road's' exclusive live concert material means that country music fans everywhere can now enjoy the great music that we've gathered," said Andy Denemark, EVP of Programming. "Plus, all of the added features on the site make it, to our knowledge, the first ever website that's exclusively dedicated to the live country music experience. Of course we thank all the artists and creative executives in the country music industry who have cooperated over the years to make these recordings possible."

Charlie Cook, who hosts "The Road" every week, will also be contributing to the internet radio station. The show will include music from such artist as Taylor Swift, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts and many more.
