LaRawn Scaife Rhea founded the award in honor of her father, Cecil Scaife, to pay tribute to the work he did and help others further their careers.  Middle Tennessee political figures Nashville mayor Karl Dean and Congresswomen Marsha Blackburn will speak at the event March 2. All of those invited will experience a night of music as well as speeches from several of Brown’s peers. A silent auction with multiple autographed items will benefit the Cecil Scaife Music Business Scholarship Endowment. Autographed items include things from James Burton, George Strait, Charlie Daniels, and Vince Gill and Amy Grant.  Tony Brown has been a success in Nashville for decades. He started as a piano player and moved onto working for MCA Nashville. He signed and/or produced for artists like Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Brooks & Dunn and George Strait. Most recently, he worked with Strait on Troubador, which won both a CMA Aaward and a Grammy.
