Country Music DJ and Radio Hall of Fame Inductees Announced

Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. announced that Chuck Collier and Gerry House will be inducted into the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame, and Bob McKay and Moon Mullins are the Country Music Radio Hall of Fame inductees for 2009.“The 2009 Hall of Fame class is a stellar list of radio professionals who perfectly match the criteria for the Country DJ and Radio Halls of fame,” said R.J. Curtis, Chairman of the Country Music DJ and Radio Hall of Fame. “Each has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of country radio. On behalf of CRB, I'm proud to welcome these four deserving inductees to their rightful place.”  The Country Music DJ Hall of Fame and Radio Hall of Fame recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the Country Music radio industry over a 25 year period. The inductees will be officially instated on March 3, 2009 at the Nashville Convention Center.Collier has spent more than 36 years at WGAR in Cleveland. He has over 30 years experience in the Country Music format and is the 2007 recipient of the National Association of Broadcasters' Marconi Award for Large Market Personality of the Year.House is also a recipient of the National Association of Broadcasters' Marconi Award, as well as the Personality of the Year Awards from the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and Radio & Records. House began his career at WBCR in Maryville, Tenn., and has worked for KLAC in Los Angeles and Nashville’s WSIZ-AM (now WSIX-FM) and WSM.McKay has spent over 30 years programming Country radio stations in major markets, including Oklahoma City, Cleveland, San Diego, Milwaukee, and Tampa Bay, Fla.Mullins has spent nearly 50 years in the Country Music radio industry and was named one of Country Radio's five most influential programmers in 1988. He has worked as a program director at KFDI in Wichita, Kan., WINN in Louisville, Ky., WDAF in Kansas City, Mo., and WHN in New York.
