Colt Ford Benefit Announced

Colt Ford from Athens, Ga. came home from his tour in late March to find that two of the police officers from his town had been shot.  Officer Elmer “Buddy” Christian died and Officer Tony Howard was injured.   So Ford decided to hold a benefit for Christian’s family, “Colt Ford and Friends.”

The benefit will be intimate performances with Ford and special guests Rhett Akins, Jason Aldean, Dallas Davidson, Mike Dekel, Edwin McCain, James Otto, and more; as well as a silent auction to celebrate the careers of both Officers Christian and Howard. It will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Georgia Theater, located at 215 North Lumpkin Street in Athens, Ga. at 7:30 PM.

“I’ve known Tony for over 25 years, and both he and Buddy are and were pillars in this community, and I can’t stand by and not do something for their families during this difficult time due to such a brutal offense,” says Ford. “I want to raise as much money as we can through the auction, performances, and donation links, so I can’t thank my friends enough for joining together with me for this great cause.”

Tickets are on-sale now for $50 General Admission and $150 VIP. VIP tickets offer fans premiere seating, early admission, and a pre-show cocktail reception beginning at 6 PM with a silent auction. In an effort to ensure that all proceeds benefit the families, all ticket buyers will be required to present photo I.D. upon arrival as no physical tickets will be issued for this show. There is a two-ticket limit per buyer.
