CMT Reality Show for Jessica?

2/15/2008 Stephen L. Betts   Jessica Simpson, who appeared in an MTV reality show, could now be doing the same at CMT. Her father and manager, Joe Simpson tells Entertainment Weekly that Jessica is in talks for a series on the network that would document her switch to country music. A CMT representative says, “We have had exploratory talks with Jessica's camp, but nothing has been confirmed or signed.” So, why another reality show possibility for Jessica, whose marriage to singer Nick Lachey ended shortly after after the MTV series went off the air? Her dad says, “With Newlyweds, she let everybody into her world. Then she had to shut the world out. Now she can open it up again so people can see, here's a girl struggling with [self-esteem] and finding her way. Country music is about storytelling, after all.” As for her upcoming album, Jessica has reportedly signed on to work with songwriter-producers Brett James (co-writer of Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel,") and John Shanks (Keith Urban, Sara Evans), as producers on the project.
