CMT “Music” Award Nominees Announced

Country Music Television (CMT) announced the nominees for their 2010 “music” awards yesterday. Jason Aldean, Sugarland and Lady Antebellum led the pack with 4 nods each. You can go to their website and vote for your choices. Two things though – Why do they call them “music” awards when they’re really video awards? They don’t know the difference? And how can it be a country music awards show if Taylor Swift doesn’t have the most nominations?

Reba Singing On Dancing With The Stars
Reba needs no last name will perform tonight on Dancing With The Stars. She won’t be cuttin’ a rug though, just singing “Consider Me Gone” and “I Want A Cowboy”. Singing on a dancing show…whoever heard of such nonsense. Aww, I love ya Reba. I love all redheads. Woof.

Sugarland’s Incredible Machine
Sugarland is reportedly finishing their 4th studio album tentatively titled The Incredible Machine. Here’s what Jennifer Nettles says about it, "We didn't make it ballad heavy, though we do enjoy those moments of poignancy. The arrangements use different choices of instrumentation. I don't know if there's even a mandolin on this record," she continued.” I really don’t need country singers using words like “poignancy”, or any word I have to look up for that matter.

Kenny Chesney Plugging His Movie On Tonight Show
April 15th Kenny Chesney will be on The Tonight Show to promote his upcoming movie Kenny Chesney: Summer In 3D. We’re not really sure what time The Tonight Show will be airing at that date though.

More Battles In Alabama
Well, sort of. This year’s BamaJam will again feature a battle of the bands contest with the winners performing at the event and having a song cut by producer James Stroud. The PR folks say Stroud is responsible for 125 #1 songs and over 52-million copies sold. Applications for the 2nd annual Jim Beam BamaJam Battle of the Bands may be submitted online at www.bamajammusicfestival.com from now until Wednesday, April 21. The selection committee will review submissions and announce six finalists on Monday, April 26. And I thought it was more like Wrestlemania. Woof.
