5/29/2008 Sandy Paul CMT has entered into an agreement with NBC to re-broadcast episodes of the Country Music competition show, Nashville Star. The sixth season of the show will premiere Monday, June 9 on NBC, and then will be re-broadcast beginning Saturday, June 14 on CMT. Nashville Star begins it’s regularly allotted timeslot on CMT Friday, June 20 at 8 p.m. ET, according to CMT.com. “Partnering with CMT is a strategic move by Reveille and NBC to create a brand affiliation for Nashville Star with the biggest television outlet for country music,” said executive producer Howard T. Owens, managing director of Reveille, LLC.  “To repurpose on CMT was the only natural distribution fit.” Host Billy Ray Cyrus will join producer John Rich, singer-songwriter Jewel, and BMI Songwriter of the Year (2006) Jeffery Steele to judge contestants 16-years-of-age and older performing solo, or in duos or trios. Contestants can compete as singer, songwriters and musicians.   The winner(s) of this year’s competition will receive a recording contract with Warner Bros. Nashville, and the opportunity to take the stage at the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
