Despite the economic hardships facing people around the country, Country Music fans still managed to set records at this year's CMA Music Fest, according to TheBoot.com. Single-day ticket sales increased 19 percent this year, and CMA execs thinks Nashville residents are to thank.
""We were going into this event saying we were going to be flat, and we thought flat was up," the CMA's CEO Tammy Genovese told MusicCityTV.com after Sunday's final show. "But tonight, we've all sat down and looked at the numbers and we are thrilled to say we are up about 7.2 percent over last year ... We feel that this is totally about our Nashvillians owning this event and becoming a part of it."

While four-day pass sales were down 4 percent, the overall attendance of the Festival was up 4,000 from last year, from 52,000 in 2008 to 56,000 this year.
