The Country Music Association has donated $1 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame, which will be used to fund one of its charities."Words & Music" is a program that the Museum offers to area schools that language arts and music teachers, as well as students.   This school year marks the 30th anniversary of the program."CMA has been a long time supporter of the Hall of Fame and Museum," said Kix Brooks, half of super duo Brooks & Dunn and chair of the CMA Artist Relations Committee.  "But what appealed to out Board about this donation was the idea that the funds would be focused on an initiative that is important to our artists and is the foundation of our industry."This will not be the first time the CMA will be helping local schools.  Half of the net proceeds from the CMA Music Festival go to Metro Nashville schools to support music education in a program called "Keep the Music Playing."  All of this charitable growth has made people at CMA very happy. "Funding this important program is a neutral expression of our support of music education in public schools through our 'Keep the Music Playing' campaign," said CMA Chief Executive Officer Tammy Genovese. "We are committed to music education and supporting quality programs that meet our Association's goals of engaging students, their families and teachers."
