CMA Awards Announces More Performers

Betts More performers have been announced for the Nov. 7 CMA Awards telecast, including multiple nominee Alison Krauss and first time nominees Jason Aldean and Kellie Pickler, who are both vying for this year’s Horizon Award. In addition, Sheryl Crow, Blake Shelton and Gretchen Wilson have been announced as presenters at this year’s awards show. Alison Krauss garnered four nominations in 2007 including Female Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year for Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas, and two for Musical Event of the Year with John Waite (his first CMA nomination) on “Missing You” and with Vince Gill on “The Reason Why.” Alison won the Female Vocalist of the Year honor in 1995, and has been nominated in the category five times, including each year from 2002-2005. Performers previously announced for the 2007 CMA Awards include Big & Rich, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, The Eagles, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire (in a duet with LeAnn Rimes), Brad Paisley, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Rascal Flatts will open the festivities and also perform with Jamie Foxx later in the broadcast. Presenters recently announced include Luke Bryan, Jason Michael Carroll, Bucky Covington, Jewel with Ty Murray, Kid Rock, Montgomery Gentry, and Dwight Yoakam. The 41st Annual CMA Awards will air live on ABC-TV Wednesday, Nov. 7 (8:00 ET) from the Sommet Center in Nashville.
