Chris Cagle Trial Set

4/23/2008 Several Arizona news outlets have reported Country Music singer Chris Cagle will appear in Tucson City Court this fall, after his tour. The court date is set for Tuesday, Sept. 23. Cagle is facing assault charges after a Dec. 13 altercation with Tucson citizen Mark Barry following a benefit concert. Reports state Cagle struck Barry after Barry’s girlfriend became abusive after Cagle refused to continue autographing items for her. Cagle nor Barry did not attend Monday’s hearing. Cagle’s attorney cited self-defense and defense of others in a pretrial statement. Barry has sued Cagle, and Cagle’s sound man, Kenneth Hoyt, who injured his wrist in December’s incident. Cagle is currently on tour to promote his latest album, My Life’s Been A Country Song.
