Chick + Chick = Hound?

Dixie-Chicks
Emily Robison and Martie Maguire of the Dixie Chicks have recorded an album on their own, under the name Court Yard Hounds, a reference to the novel, City of Thieves

According to Rolling Stone, the project was mostly recorded at Maguire’s home studio in Austin, Texas. The album is scheduled to be released in May and features Robison on lead vocals for the first time and an appearance by the Wallflowers’ Jakob Dylan.

The Country sisters will also perform as a duo at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin in March.

As previously reported by CountryHound, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines will not be part of the Court Yard Hounds project. However, Robison and Maguire told Rolling Stone that the Chicks have not formally parted ways.
