Along with CMA and NASCAR, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Hendrick Motorsports and Richmond International Raceway, Chevy launched their salute to America's Heros this past Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

With the current state of the economy and the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan still brewing, Chevy is teaming with NASCAR and the CMA Awards in search of American military personnel that have demonstrated extraordinary acts of heroism. During a time when some Americans may need some inspirational intervention, Chevy is asking for nominations of any individual that has demonstrated the military spirit of overcoming obstacles, inspiring others and positively impacting their country and community while in uniform.

Five finalists will be selected in early October, opening up a public voting record for Americans to select the most inspirational and heroic story. The winner will be announced at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards held live Nov. 11 on ABC.

The winner and their family will be honored guests at the show and will also meet with Dale Earnhardt Jr.

"As the driver of the No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevy, I've had the opportunity to meet many of the military heroes risking their lives every day to protect our freedom. It's an honor for me to participate in this program. I think this is an awesome way to pay tribute to those men and women," said Earnhardt. "Everyone who has a story to tell about a member of the military should log on to www.youreverydayhero.com and tell us your story."
