Kenny Blinks and Hits the Charts

8/28/2007 Kenny Chesney’s latest single, “Don't Blink,” continues the singer’s record-setting ways, debuting on the chart at No. 16. It’s the highest debuting single in the history of BDS (Broadcast Data Systems), the technology which monitors radio airplay. Kenny’s previous single, “Never Wanted Nothin’ More,” was also a record-setter, becoming his quickest-climbing No. 1 single. “Don’t Blink” is the second release from Kenny’s upcoming Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates, set for release on Sept. 11. In related news, Kenny and George Strait are reportedly teaming up for “Shiftwork,” a duet which will be included on the album. Says Kenny of working with “King George,” “I've looked up to [him] for years and tried to emulate [him] for a long time.” On Sept. 13, Kenny is set to appear on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
