Former American Idol Kristy Lee Cook says that her recent label, Arista Nashville, dropped her because there wasn’t enough resources for her and another more famous Idol, Carrie Underwood. "(Arista) released me again. It's because I was on the same label as Carrie Underwood," Cook told the Grants Pass Daily Courier. "We're kind of glad that we got released because we weren't getting the attention we need," Country Corner reported Cook as saying.Of her Arista released album, Why Wait, Cook said, "They promoted it a little bit. They spent so much more money on Carrie."Cook's first single, “15 Minutes of Shame,” made the Top 30 on Country charts. She said fans haven't heard her best music yet."I have a song that they didn't want me to put on the album that's going to be a hit," Cook insisted. "I'm going to take it to another label...We're talking with Universal right now." Cook had been signed to Arista once before at age 17.
