Carrie Underwood to be Lead Spokesperson for Campaign Honoring Teachers

Country Music superstar and former American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, has just singed on to be the lead spokesperson for the Time Inc. supported campaign, "Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher." 

Being an American Idol herself, Underwood believes that teachers are the true American idols, as she has grown up watching her mother teach for 25 years. Now both of her sisters, Shanna Means and Stephanie Shelton, have become teachers as well. Examiner.com reported Underwood as saying, "I have always admired my mother and sisters for making a difference in the lives of so many.”

"Behind Every Famous Person is a Fabulous Teacher" is a campaign known to partner celebrities with their favorite teachers. Other celebrities who participate in this event include Laura Bush, Jeremy Piven, America Ferrera, Al Roker and many others. 

Education is something that Underwood has always taken very seriously as she graduated salutatorian of her high school class and magna cum laude with a Mass Communication degree from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.
