Carrie Underwood Says Adopt A Dog! Woof! Woof!
Carrie Underwood has recorded a public service announcement encouraging people to adopt a dog from their local shelter. It is part of the Pedigree Adopt A Dog program. Pedigree sponsors Carrie’s tour. Carrie says of dogs, "They're such sweet and gentle souls that love you just because you love them back.” I’m already taken Carrie, but I could spend some weekends with you if you like. Woof.
 
Musicians Hall of Fame Gets No Encore
The Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville lost a court battle and as of last Friday has seven days to relocate. Nashville is building a new $585 million convention center and needed the Hall’s property. They disputed over the value and the Hall of Fame lost. No word on their next move yet. This is a sad thing.
 
Brad Paisley Gets 16th #1
It is also his 12th in a row as “American Saturday Night” charts the tops this week. That’s based on the Mediabase Country Airplay chart. Only one man has more consecutive #1’s, Sonny James. 
 
Dolly Parton Grieved Over Not Having Children, But Now Helps Many
Dolly Parton tried to have children for several years she says, but then gave it up to further her career. That is a decision she later regretted very much, according to The Boot. Dolly says she then realized there were plenty of other children who needed taking care of. One of her initiatives to help children, Imagination Library, provides a book a month to children living in poverty, up to age 5. 
 
Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus Still Kids…Choice Nominees         
Taylor Swift is nominated for two Kids Choice Awards, presented by Nickelodeon. Swift is a nominee for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Song (for “You Belong To Me”). Gal pal Miley Cyrus has four nominations including Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Movie Actress. Thos kids are something else.
 
Alison Krauss and Union Station Help Haiti
Alison Krauss and her band Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas have agreed to perform at the Help Haiti Live concerts. There’s two of them, one in Nashville and the other in Los Angeles. Woofs for your kind heart and good works Alison.
 
Trace Adkins Band’s Bus In Fatal Accident
None of Trace Adkins band members were hurt seriously, but two men died when their pick-up truck reportedly crossed the center line and hit the band’s bus head-on in Louisiana. Adkins came to the scene later and then went to the hospital to check on victims of the crash.
