CMA Awards co-host Carrie Underwood has received the fastest No. 1 country single of her career for “Cowboy Casanova,” the first hit on her recently-released Play On album.
Underwood collaborated with hip-hop writer and producer Mike Elizondo and fellow Oklahoman Brett James to write the sassy chart topper. According to a news release, this is her 11th No. 1 country single.
The four-time Grammy Winner, ACM Entertainer of the Year and CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year is the only American Idol winner to achieve 11 No. 1 hits.
Beginning with her first post-Idol hit “Inside Your Heaven,” which appeared on Billboard’s charts in 2005, Underwood is the only country music star to receive ten No. 1 singles based on two albums.
In addition to taking ranks on the country charts, “Cowboy Casanova,” remains the No. 1 music video on CMT’s Top Twenty Countdown for the fifth week in a row and is still atop GAC’s fan-voted countdown.
Underwood will be performing and co-hosting with Brad Paisley on The 43rd Annual CMA Awards at 8 p.m. eastern airing live in Nashville.
