Carrie Underwood Confirmed to Participate in Celebrity Softball Challenge

Carrie-Underwood
With baseball season underway, Nashville has selected June 10 as the date for the 19th Annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge. This year's players consist of Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Josh Tuner, Montgomery Gentry and many others who will take the field at Nashville’s Greer Stadium at 7 p.m.
The game that has been dubbed the unofficial kickoff to the CMA Music Fest brings Country stars to the plate to benefit City of Hope, a leading research, education and treatment center for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
City of Hope has been named a Comprehensive Cancer Center, the highest honor given by the National Cancer Institute and works to provide research and medical aid to cancer patients.
The Grand Ole Opry and “After MidNite with Blair Garner” teams bring an interesting rivalry to the atmosphere.
“Like any Southern gentleman, I believe in second helpings. So bring that plate around one more time, boys. Daddy's got a Manwich appetite,” said Blair Garner, founder of last years winning team, “After MidNite with Blair Garner.”
Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com
