Carrie Underwood walked away with two Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday, April 5. But this time, she took home an award that she has never before won, and only six women have won before her, for Entertainer of the Year.
Underwood said she was so excited when she heard her name called that she “blacked out” for a couple of minutes and then when she got up to make her acceptance speech, she was speechless.
"I don't know what to say. I got nothin' ... I want to see those boots, Matthew," she said to lighten the mood, responding to Matthew McConaughey's story about "getting lucky" after lying to girls saying he made George Strait's custom boots.
Underwood apologized forr her comment right after she walked off stage. She told Tarts, "You want to say something eloquent in a moment like that and I embarrassed myself. I'm sorry Matthew, I'm sorry to my family. I'm totally embarrassed."
According to FOXnews.com, Underwood also said that she accepted the Entertain of the Year award for "all the women before me who kicked butt and never got the recognition they deserve."
