Carrie Newest Grand Ole Opry Member

3/15/2008 Staff Carrie Underwood Invited To Join Grand Ole Opry   Country music star Carrie Underwood is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, officially invited Saturday nght, March 15th.  Underwood had just finished her regulary scheduled Opry performance, where she sang Randy Travis' "I Told You So",  when she was surprised on stage by Randy.  When Randy Travis issued the official invitation for Carrie Underwood to become a Grand Ole Opry member, Carrie's reply was "Let me think about it...yeah."  Carrie's official inducation is scheduled for May 10 this year.  

  The Grand Ole Opry invitation served as a great finale to the country singer's  "birthday week" that she has been celebrating.  Carrie was born on March 10, 1983. Just days after winning American Idol, Carrie made it a point to make her debut at the Grand Ole Opry.  Now the ACM and CMA Female vocalist of the year can feel proud to be a member of country music's greatest institution, the Grand Ole Opry.
