Carrie Joins Movies Rock TV Special

10/25/2007 Stephen L. Betts Carrie Underwood will perform the title song from The Sound of Music in the first Movies Rock TV special taping on Dec. 2 in Los Angeles. The two-hour show will air Dec. 7 on CBS. Other performers include Beyoncé (“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz), Elton John (in a tribute to animated films), Mary J. Blige and John Legend ("As Time Goes By" from Casablance) and Fergie and Jennifer Hudson saluting James Bond movie tunes (“Live and Let Die” and “Goldfinger”). The concert is a production of Condé Nast Media Group in conjunction with the Producers Guild of America and the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Movies Rock magazine will accompany the December subscriber issues of 14 Condé Nast magazines with a cover featuring Bill Murray portraying Elvis Presley during his Vegas years.
