Canadian Country Hall of Fame Moving, Sometime

3/21/2008 Staff Earlier this week it was announced that the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame was moving from Calgary to Merritt, British Columbia. According to Ron Sanders, president of the Merritt Walk of Stars Society, plaques and the rest of the memorabilia are being moved to the town about northeast of Vancouver. Merritt is the home of Mountainfest, one of the largest country music festivals in Canada. The new Country Music Hall of Fame is to be located in the legacy square now under construction in downtown Merritt. Just a few days later, Sanders said the move has been delayed because the lawyer representing the hall of fame's owner has died. The memorabilia and materials belonging to the owner will be heading to B.C. at a later date.
