Kix Brooks Returns from USO Tour

2/5/2008 Meaghan Mitchell After performing on the front lines, Kix Brooks and songwriter Bob DiPiero returned home last week from a USO Tour in Iraq. The tour comes at a unique time as Brooks & Dunn's current single "God Must Be Busy" references the Middle East and other hard-hitting current issues in America today. Though there are many issues at the forefront for American voters as they hit the polls today and in November, Brooks says the war is still an important issue. "It's a big part of our world right now," Kix tells Dial-Global. "As Americans, we were lucky. We went for a long time after Vietnam without being in a major conflict like this. When it first started, it was so weird -- somebody saying there were going to Iraq. You remember that? It just seems like it wasn't that long ago that...that was huge. Now everybody in uniform's been there once or twice. Everybody wants it to end, but it's very much a part of our framework in America right now."
