The song is the lead single from the soundtrack for Dale, a documentary about Dale Earnhardt. The movie premiered at this year's Daytona 500, the race that claimed the NASCAR legend's life in 2001. The film is traveling with the NASCAR circuit, and CMT will soon be airing it on a regular basis. It will be also available on DVD in the fall Brent, a 27-year-old Blanchester, Ohio native, hopes to have an album released by February. His big break was as a finalist on Nashville Star. He and producer Chris Farren worked together to create "Looking for a Road," part of which was used in a story about NASCAR driver Mark Martin. "It just kind of kept growing [at CMT]," Brent tells the Wilmington (OH) News Journal. "When the whole Dale project came up, they said this song would be perfect." CMT entered the movie business after partnering with Paramount Pictures. Their first movie was Broken Bridges, starring Toby Keith (no relation). For his video, Richard Childress Racing provided a car that Dale Earnhardt had actually used in a race, Brent says, adding that the company was once offered $14 million to sell the car and refused. "I'm pretty pumped," Brent says of the video and film. "It's a pretty exciting thing." In addition to "Looking for a Road," and tracks from Brooks & Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt and Alabama, the Dale soundtrack will feature classics from Bruce Springsteen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Motley Crüe, George Thorogood and Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's set for release Aug. 28. The film debuts on CMT Sept. 4.
