12/13/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Could a fictional character be coming in between one of country music's most beloved couples? Brad Paisley would have you think so. In the latest blog entry on his website, Brad offers his hilarious tongue-in-cheek account of meeting “Dewey Cox” (actor John C. Reilly from the fictional bio-pic, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story), at a Nashville premiere of the film this week. Brad is obviously having trouble dealing with his wife Kim’s “crush” on the singer, whose rise to fame is chronicled in the new film. Here’s an excerpt from Brad’s blogged tirade: “I need to set the record straight. First, am I justified in my anger about Kim's shameless schoolgirl infatuation with this piece of horse manure, her giddy irrepressible transparent desire to run away with this road dog as if I'm some hick-town bar-band two-bit wanna-be loser? Or my inability to measure up to his long... shadow? Yes I'm justified. Of course. I shouldn't have to be compared to one of music's greatest talents, songwriters, and singers. The man who brought us the smashes 'Walk Hard,' 'Hole In My Pants,' and so many more.” And Brad’s review of the film itself? “It's not for the faint of heart, the weak stomached, the young, the very old, the prudish, the dry skinned, the tattooed, the MENSA members, or the Amish. It's raw. Unedited. Simultaneously charming and horrifying.” Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story opens in theaters nationwide on Dec. 21. In reality, by the way, things in the Paisley household are just fine. Brad and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, along with son Huck, are featured on the cover of the January issue of Good Housekeeping, as part of a feature on “stay-together secrets” from some of country music's hottest couples.
