Brad Paisley at 41st Annual CMA Awards

Brad Paisley has parked his tour bus for the rest of the year. The Country star is looking forward to a welcome break so that he can spend time doing other “stuff,” including spending quality time with his wife and their two sons.

Paisley talked with radio host Jeff Foxworthy last week, explaining that concerts are often the last thing on fans’ mind by the end of the year.

"Towards November we're done 'til January with tour dates," he said. "We have other stuff to do, but we learned last year that I just don't think that people have time in their lives to go see shows [after October].”

Foxworthy pointed out that "even if they want to, they don't have time and they don't have money," although Paisley explained, "We keep our prices real low on tickets but that doesn't matter now. What matters is in November and December is no one buys one concert ticket. They're going to buy two or three, and that's a couple hundred bucks by the time you go out and come home and eat or whatever, and Christmas is going to suck that out of you. People have to make a choice."

Plus, Paisley added that his material tends to have a more summer, outdoors-y vibe. "A lot of my songs are about things like summer and fishing. It just feels better for me to tour in the spring, summer and fall than it does at Christmas."

"A lot of your songs -- pardon me -- are just about goofy stuff," Foxworthy responded. "I've often said if you were not musical, you would have made a great stand-up comic. You've got the little funny bone in you."

"I'm funny when I have six months to finish a song,” said the Country singer. “I don't think anyone's going to sit in that audience for six months and wait for me to come up with the right joke."

But Brad Paisley will have the chance to practice his comedy skill when he co-hosts the CMA Awards with Carrie Underwood on Nov. 11 on ABC.
