Bobby Lord Dies in Florida

2/18/2008 Stephen L. Betts Country singer and television personality Bobby Lord died Saturday (2/16) at a hospital in Stuart, Fla., near his home in Jensen Beach, after a lengthy illness. He was 74. In addition to his syndicated TV series, The Bobby Lord Show, which began in Nashville in 1965, Bobby Lord was a member of the Ozark Jubilee, and joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1960, where he remained a regular on that show until 1975. In the late 1980s, he hosted the Celebrity Outdoors series on TNN: The Nashville Network. As a recording artist, Bobby was signed to the Columbia, Hickory and Decca Records labels, where, between 1956 and 1971, he charted such hits as “Without Your Love,” “Life Can Have Meaning,” “Rainbow Girl,” “You and Me Against the World,” and “Wake Me Up Early in the Morning." He is survived by his wife, Mozelle, daughter Sarah Williams and sons Cabot and Robert.
