9/11/2007 Stephen L. Betts As Big & Rich celebrated their No. 1 single “Lost in this Moment” at an industry gathering yesterday (9/10) in Nashville, they learned that the song has climbed into the Top 15 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. The duo's John Rich co-wrote the song with Keith Anderson and Rodney Clawson about six years ago, and John admits that at the time he didn't think it was a Big & Rich type of song. But he adds that he realized he was doing exactly opposite of what he and his pals in the MuzikMafia preach. “We say we stand for music without boundaries,” says John. “We had to become not guilty of being prejudiced against ourselves. If it's a great song we want to record it.” The song became Big & Rich's first chart-topper, and Keith Anderson's first No. 1 as a writer. Keith recorded the song, now popular at wedding ceremonies, for his second album for Arista Records, set for release early next year. “Radio finally came around to our way of thinking for once,” John Rich told media at a press conference before the No. 1 party. “I thought it was time for Big & Rich to have a love song,” Big Kenny added. After the ceremony, John Rich told the crowd, “I'm going to Chattanooga and try to get Fred Thompson in the White House.”
