10/26/2007 Stephen L. Betts In honor of the late music industry pioneer Louise Scruggs, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville is hosting a special interview with longtime Alison Krauss manager Denise Stiff, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6:00 p.m. The Louise Scruggs Memorial Forum, made possible by the Gibson Foundation, will explore issues related to the business side of the music industry and will be presented annually to honor a music industry leader who represents the legacy of Louise Scruggs. In 1955, Louise Scruggs was the first woman to become an artist booking agent, guiding the career of her husband Earl Scruggs for more than 50 years. Denise Stiff, besides being Krauss' manager, was the executive producer of music for O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and the producer of the Down from the Mountain tour. “Denise has done wonderful things for Alison and for traditional music,” says Earl Scruggs. “Louise would be pleased to know that Denise was selected for this first forum in her honor.”   The event, which will take place in the Museum's Ford Theater, will include an in-depth interview with Denise, supplemented with photos, film footage and audio recordings culled from the Museum's collection. A reception will follow the program. Admission to the event is free.
