3/25/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Blake Says Being Away From Nashville Is Good   In the April 7 issue of Country Weekly, Oklahoma-loving Blake Shelton opens up about his relationship, pesky deer and not living in Nashville. Shelton is settling into life on his 1,200-acre Tishimingo, Oklahoma farm and loving it.  He says, “My favorite spot is probably wherever I’m seein’ a deer at that moment.” The Ada, Oklahoma native also discusses his public relationship with country star Miranda Lambert, who has become his neighbor, of all things.  Lambert bought a farm near his, a move Shelton insists was not the couple deciding, “You know it’s time to be closer to each other.” Shelton does expand on his relationship with the younger Lambert, claiming she is  “…the only real person in my life, I think, that can argue with me about things that I’ll stop and really, really think about what’s she’s saying and pay attention to.”  When asked about their future plans, he coyly says she’ll be his date to the November CMAs. Shelton is not shy when it comes to talking about his career and his choice to move away from Music Row. He tells Country Weekly, “Even when I lived in Tennessee, I couldn’t get far enough away from Nashville. I love music. But if there’s a way for me to make records and still tour, but not have to be in the campaign up there all the time . . . I’m just not cut from that mold, you know?” For the Country Weekly Q & A go to www.countryweekly.com.
