Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins Trade Barbs

Blake Shelton and his “Hillbilly Bone” partner Trace Adkins have been exercising their funny bones lately, making jokes about each other on E! Entertainment’s Chelsea Lately.
 
When funny lady Chelsea Handler mentioned Shelton, Adkins had a few sarcastic remarks about the soon-to-be Grand Ole Opry member.
 
“He's like working with an animal,” Adkins said, “…you have to give him a treat when he's good, spank him when he's not. He's not very smart.”
 
Shelton told The Boot this week that Adkins’ comment was like “a turtle telling a snail that it's slow. It means nothing to me.”
 
“It's Trace still leaning on me well after our duet has come and gone,” Shelton continued with a laugh. “He still manages to attach himself to me somehow, even in interviews.”
 
The all-in-good-fun teasing comes after Adkins presented Shelton with the invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry.
 
“This moment, hands down, is the highlight of my career,” Shelton said after being surprised with the invitation to join the historic radio show.
 
Adkins will be in attendance when Shelton is inducted into the Grand Ole Opry this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 23.
