Betts Voice of Country, the Nashville-based radio station broadcasting from www.voiceofcountry.com, has announced the addition of singer-songwriter Billy Yates to the VoC on-air roster. The station has a worldwide listenership, with audiences in the UK and Ireland its primary focus. As a songwriter, Billy Yates’ tunes have been recorded by dozens of artists, although he’s perhaps best-known for the George Jones hits “Choices,” and “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair.” As a performer, Billy has built a devoted UK fan-base through extensive touring, He’ll be heard Saturdays from 2 - 4 p.m. UK time (9 - 11 a.m. ET), spinning a mix of current country hits, album tracks and classics. “I’m excited to be given this new opportunity to stay close to my UK fans and to help keep them supplied with a steady stream of top quality country music,” says Billy, whose program begins airing this weekend (2/2), preceding a UK tour which launchesd March 8 in Norfolk, along with the release of his latest CD, That's Why I Run, on March 11.
