Big Kenny Alphin of Country duo Big & Rich spoke with a group of more than 250 high school students at South Aiken High School in Aiken, S.C., encouraging them to educate themselves and spread the message to others about the tragedy in Darfur.
Kenny shared stories from his two visits to the region, showed his documentary about the crisis and played a few songs.  The appearance came after the students, who are part of the school's STAND (Students Taking Action Now:Darfur) organization, wrote the singer several letters asking him to speak.
Afterwards, Kenny said he was very impressed with the caring attitude the students showed.
"It's good to see so many high school students that give a whoot about people all over the world," he said.
